For years boxing fans have been clamouring to see Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua square off. Now, it seems, their wish is finally set to be granted.
According to reports, the two heavyweight rivals have agreed to a two-fight deal for 2024. All that remains is for the contracts to be signed.
The first fight is expected to take place in the summer, with the second following in the autumn.
The news will come as a huge relief to boxing fans, who have been eagerly anticipating a showdown between the two undefeated heavyweights.
Joshua (25-0, 22 KOs) is the current WBO, WBA, IBF, and IBO heavyweight champion, while Wilder (43-0-1, 41 KOs) is the WBC heavyweight champion.
Both fighters are considered to be among the best in the world, and a fight between them is sure to be a blockbuster event.
